This paper describes how the New York State Thruway Authority has managed traffic volume on the Tappan Zee Bridge. Methods used include: enlargement of existing toll plaza; moveable median barriers; commuter toll coupon books; electronic toll collection; communications dispatching for incidents; and park and ride lots.
