Pengaruh Penggunaan Enzim Keratinase dari Bakteri exiguobacterium sp. Dg1 Pada Proses Buang Rambut Ramah Lingkungan Terhadap Kualitas Limbah Cair (Effect Of The Keratinase Enzyme from Exiguobacterium Sp. DG1 Bacteria Used In Environmentally Friendly Dehairing Process To Liquid Waste Quality)

2015
This study aims was to determine differences in the liquid waste quality generated from the dehairing enzymatic process using keratinase enzyme derived from Exiguobacterium sp. DG1 bacteria compared to the effluent quality that was produced by conventional dehairing process as a treatment control. Effluent quality based on the total solid, total volatile solid, suspended solids and volatile suspended solids. This study was conducted experimentally with completely randomized design uses 20 sheets of Garut Sheep skin. The treatment consisted of the enzyme keratinase using as much as 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and the treatment control using Na2S of 2.5%. Each treatment was repeated four times. The results showed that the using of enzyme keratinase treatment generate total solid, total volatile solid, suspended solids and volatile suspended solids, that had significant difference (P <0.05) than the waste generated by conventional dehairing treatment. Enzymatic dehairing process using keratinase enzyme from bacteria Exiguobacterium sp. DG1 able to decreased the total solid of 60.29 to 68.68%, total volatile solid at 60-68%, suspended solids of 57.22 to 61.76%, and volatile suspended solids of 55.86 to 61.63% compared with the waste that produced from conventional dehairing process.
