To describe life quality related to health (LQRH), and health state of a worker population.  Methodology.  A descriptive transversal study performed in a sample of 33 workers of the urban area of Cali city. A LQRH questionnaire was administered (Nottingham Health Profile-NHP). Age, weight, size, corporal mass index (CMI), waist circumference, waist-hip relationship, flexibility test, and physical strength test VO(2)max., were measured, as indicators of their health state. Results. Average age of those involved was 46,7±6,4 years, 60,7% (n=20) were women. In the general population, higher scores in LQRH (within 0 to 100 scale) were observed in corporal Pain dominion (29,5±32,3), while the  lowest score was observed in dominion Social Isolation (23,6±9,2).  In men, higher scores in LQRH were observe don dominions: Emotional Reactions (26,5±29,7), followed by Sleep (26,1±27,5), while in women it was corporal Pain (36,2±29,7), followed by Emotional Reactions 28,8±23,7.   Dominion of corporal Pain was the unique category showing difference per genre, (36,2±29,7 women vs. 19,2±34,4 men),  p <0,05. Likewise, meaningful difference was found in health indicators: corporal weight, size,  CMI, flexibility and physical strength  for VO(2)max,  p <0,05. Conclusions. Meaningful difference was found in function of genre in LQRH, and in some indicators of health state of those evaluated individuals. Modification of such indicators could bring benefits in cardiovascular disease prevention, which currently are considered as epidemic in Colombia.
