「父愛」深化：新加坡愛情、婚姻與家庭政策的變遷

More and more scholars in the field of matrimony research proved that the transformation of family structure of traditional matrimony has inseparable relationship with the rising individualism in recent years. The functions and values of a family, the arrangement of a male and a female in a family and the social conventions for marital couples are undergoing deconstructing and constructing again and again. Out of individual considerations, the concept of family and love sways between deconstruction and construction. Therefore, it shows us diverse facades of love, matrimony and family. The Singaporean government began to deliver official “instructions” to the families in a forceful way in order to eliminate any potential family structure hazardous to the national benefits and guide them to the way that the government wishes to see by establishing policies related to families and by public announcements since Singapore established. With the rise of structural change of population in Singapore, the family policies now are facing challenges, too. However, the core virtue of the family policies is to deal with the problem of population so that Singapore can be keenly competitive in the future as well. This research is to analyze the concepts of love, matrimony and family policies in Singapore of each stage. During the process, I will discuss the impact of official “instructions” exclusively for the families. In the research, I will also indicate the changes of authoritative “instructions” and its influence on the family issue which is ought to be “individual considerations.”
