Crítica a algunos trabajos científicos recientes sobre las creencias folclóricas

2002
Since the advent of reflexive ethnography and cultural politics in folklore studies, older romantic and positivist paradigms for the study of folk belief have been questioned and new theoretical perspectives have opened. This essay is a critique of the recent work of some leading folk belief scholars in the United States and England such as David Hufford, Elaine Lawless, Gillian Bennet, Bonnie O'Connor, and Leonard Primiano and such theories as «experience-centered», «reciprocal ethnography», and «vernacular religion». Although these approaches offer exciting possibilities for the future research, problems of cultural representation remain.
