Association between PCM1 gene polymorphism and schizophrenia

Objective To explore the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms ( SNPs )of PCM1 gene and schizophrenia in Chinese people.Methods PCM1 of PCM1 gene was genotyped in 100 schizophrenia patients and 100 healthy subjects using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymerase ( PCR-RFLP ).Results Genotype frequencies for rs445422 al1 met HardyWeinberg equilibrium in patients with schizophrenia and control subjectrs.The allele frequencies for rs445422 did not differ significantly between schizophrenia patients and controls ( P ＞ 0.05 ).Conclusions rs445422 in the PCM1 gene does not associate with schizophrenia in Chinese people.
