A novel sensitized matrix Pythium oligandrum-derived carbon for enhancement photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Abstract Biomass-based carbon materials have attracted much attention as sensitized matrix in the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Herein, biomass-derived carbon is prepared via a facial and green one-step synthetic technique using Pythium oligandrum as carbon precursor. The hydrogen evolution activity of the prepared catalyst is 1.63 times higher than graphene oxide with platinum assist.
