The Flourishing Chemistry of Carbene Stabilized Compounds of Group 13 and 14 Elements
2021
Abstract This review describes the chemistry of NHC-stabilized group 13 and 14 compounds. NHCs possess significant amount of electron donation and acceptance ability and accordingly, they were found to be effective in stabilization of a variety of main group compounds. These compounds not only enrich the library of main group compounds but also found to have remarkable applications in various catalytic and organic transformations. Most importantly, some of them were found to mimic the typical reactivity of transition metal complexes.
