The invention relates to a flexible display panel and a manufacturing method thereof. The flexible display panel comprises a flexible substrate, a plurality of electrophoretic pixel units, a pluralityof electrowetting pixel units, a light transmitting protective layer and a driving circuit, wherein the electrophoretic pixel units and the electrowetting pixel units are respectively arranged in a first display area and a second display area of the flexible substrate; the light transmitting protective layer is arranged on the electrophoretic pixel units and the electrowetting pixel units; the driving circuit is arranged in a non-display area of the flexible substrate, and is electrically connected to the electrophoretic pixel units and the electrowetting pixel units; and the flexible displaypanel can display a static picture through the electrophoretic pixel units, and display a dynamic picture through the electrowetting pixel units so as to simultaneously achieve the efficiencies of saving electricity and displaying the dynamic picture.
