Glucagon-like insulinogtropic peptide, composition and preparation thereof

PURPOSE: To provide a new compound and pharmaceutical composition thereof which are useful in enhancing the expression of insulin in B-type islet cells and treating maturity onset diabetes mellitus in mammals. CONSTITUTION: This compound has at least one histidine functional moiety or modified histidine functional moiety and comprises GLP-1 molecules having an isoelectric point of about 6.0-about 9.0 which are complexed with a divalent metal cation. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compound, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, a diluent or a shaping agent are also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
