Effects of Yucca Extracts and Bacillus Subtilis Feed Additive on Diet Nutrient Utilization and Blood Chemistry in Broilers

2012
Two hundred and forty new born broilers(ROSS 308) were assigned to four treatment groups to study the effects of Yucca extracts and Bacillus Subtilis feed additive on diet nutrient utilization and blood chemistry. The broiler feed additives of group 1 to 4 were aureomycin, Bacillus Subtilis, Yucca extracts, and the combination of Bacillus Subtilis and Yucca extracts. In the experimental period of 42 days, the final body weight, feed efficiency (ratio of feed intake to body weight gain), and serum uric acid contents of group 4 broilers were significant(P0.05) to group 1, and those of group 2 and 3 broilers were no differences(P0.05). For apparent availability of crude protein and broiler serum albumin concentration, group 2 and 4 were significant higher than group 1(P0.05). These findings proved that Yucca extracts and Bacillus Subtilis had the synergism of improving broiler growth performance by enhancing the feed protein digestibility and utilization.
