Circulation analysis of print books for academic purpose at Mysore University Library: an overview

We analyzed WEB OPAC of circulation module of print books at Mysore University Library using KOHA Integrated Library Software. We have taken the top 100 circulated statistics of books during the year 2014-2015. only 1.78% and 8.49% of the membership holders belongs to faculty and research scholars respectively. The study finds that Kannada language books are highly circulated during the year 2011-2014. The number of circulation of books gets increased approximately in the ratio of 1:3 per day to per week to per month. The study finds that in spite of some advances in e-book technology, some users will undoubtedly continue to prefer print books.
