Estudio de la eficacia de un programa de Escuela de Espalda aplicado en un Centro de Salud

2006
Antecedent: Describe the characteristics of a program of rachialgia in San Juan's Hospital, applied to a Center of Health population, as well as its effectiveness. Methods: 192 patients with neck pain, dorsalgia and/or lumbalgia were included, during the period January 03- January 05. The program was developed in 6 collective sessions of two monthsduration. It was completed the test of visual analogue scale (VAS) of the pain, a questionnaire of compression of biomechanics concepts and an adapted test of evaluation, with the following variables: subjective evaluation of the postural control and objective valuation of the postural control. An anonymous postal survey was sent to 160 patients. Results and conclusion: The program improves the measured backache through the VAS in a 27.2% and through the test of valuation adapted in a 31.4%. Also we found that it improves the understanding of biomechanic concepts in a 13.1%. These found improvements were statistically significant (p < 0.001). The educational level of the studied subjects was statistically significant correlated (p = 0.0038) with the difference obtained in the questionnaire of understanding of concepts. The patients with a greater adhesion to the practical application of positions were those that obtained a greater reduction of the backache.
