Turning shaft support structure

2015
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering shaft support structure which suppresses the generation of noise resulting from air circulation.SOLUTION: A rack bush 30 which is supported by an annular elastic member 40 includes a bush main body 50 and a flange part 60 extending to the outside R1 of a radial direction from an end part 51 of the bush main body 50 in a first axial direction in a housing 20. The flange part 60 is positioned at a step part 23 of an internal peripheral face 20a of the housing 20. The bush main body 50 includes a slit 32 in a second axial line extending to a middle part of an axial direction X from an end part 52 in the second axial direction. A gap clearance S communicating with the slit 32 in the second axial direction is formed between the internal peripheral face 20a of the housing 20 and an external peripheral face 50a of the bush main body 50. A recessed groove 61 (communication passage) of the flange part 60 makes a first space P1 (housing-side space) which is formed at a housing end 20e side rather than a rack bush 30 communicate with the gap clearance S in the housing 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
