Analysis of the Multi-azeotropes in Terms of the Zeroth Approximation

Assuming the zeroth approximation for the vapor-liquid equilibrium in multicomponent systems the authors have analyzed multi-azeotropes, and the following results have been obtained.1) For the condition of azeotropic formation in multi-component systems, Eq. 8 should hold for all combinations of n components.2) The constancy of ωij is shown as Figs. 1 to 3.3) Azeotropic composition effect upon temperature is given by solving Eq. 13, and the breaking temperatures are obtained by substituting Xi=1 or 0 into Eq. 13.4) Azeotropic temperature can be deduced from Eqs. 2, 4 and 13.
