HYDATID CYST WITH MULTIPLE LOCALIZATION. CASE REPORT

2020
We present the case of a 21-year-old male, admitted in our Clinic with pain in the left upper quadrant, without any other complains. The biochemical tests were normal, except the Ig E for the hydatid cyst was 668 U/mL  with the reference value of 0-87 U/mL. The ultrasound and the computer tomography revealed the presence of cystic tumors in the liver, right lung and in the spleen, with imagistic appearance specific for hydatid cyst. A multidisciplinary surgery team was formed from General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery to perform, in one surgical session, the resection of the multiple cysts, first time through thoracotomy followed by laparotomy. The histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of multiple hydatid cyst.
