Analysis of Pressure Distribution Between Human and Seat for Evaluation of Automotive Seating Comfort

The current researches of seat comfort mainly focus on how to evaluate the comfort. Aiming at human characteristics of China, starting with pressure distribution measurement of interface between human body and seat, test scheme was designed and seat pressure distribution data of ten kinds of cushions were tested. Meanwhile, evaluation of subjective comfort was carried out. The intention of this research is to seek the relationship between objective pressure data and subjective ratings, and more remarkable pressure distribution index for seat comfort evaluation. This research systematically studies the correlation of pressure distribution and subjective rating, gives the relationship between the pressure distribution and seating comfort, therefore, it may provide useful information for seat designers.
