NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN MOTORCYCLE BRAKE SYSTEMS

This paper presents the development of motorcycle brake systems, from the outer shoe brakes up to electronic ABS (Antilock braking systems). ABS problems peculiar to motorcycles are investigated, both in the case of braking in a straight line and braking in a bend. The future development of electronically controlled modern motorcycle brakes is also discussed. For the covering abstract see IRRD 869205.
