The effect of different ways of main tillage on agrophysical properties of ordinary chernozem in the Transural steppe region

2001
The impact of different methods of soil tillage in crop rotation on the structural state, bulk density, and porosity of ordinary chernozem is considered. It is shown that changes in agrophysical soil properties depend both on the type and depth of tillage and on the crop rotation system. Contrary to moldboard plowing, disking, subsurface plowing, and minimum tillage favor an increase in the water stability of soil aggregates and create an optimum consistency of the plow layer.
