Defect formation in nonmetallic crystals due to nonequilibrium excitons

1992
The probability of formation of Frenkel defects with the participation of excitons heated in an inhomogeneous electric field is calculated. It is shown that this probability depends on the strength of the electric field E and on its gradient dE/dx. The dependence of the probability of defect formation on the nonequilibrium part of the exciton distribution function is discussed
