The rapid development of telecommunication technology is changing many aspects of our lives. The buying and selling ofproducts mostly apparels and services exclusively through electronic channels, is gaining ground through e-commerce. Recentstatistics show that retail e-commerce sales in India have grown almost eight-fold. The year 2014 can be seen as the turningpoint in the Indian retail industry as online sales of the two e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon recorded huge sale during Diwali sale. The companies offered huge discounts to the Indian consumers and established their presence in the Indianretail industry. The growth has created a ripple effect across other retail categories with apparel being the fastest growingsub-category. Excel Shoppee, a 2 year old Ecommerce start up based in Mumbai has its focus on affordable luxury and stylecategory of women's fashion-wear. Mr. Jinender Singh (name changed), the founder was looking at launching his e-businessglobally. The case focuses on challenges encountered in sourcing vendors for the company and getting more products on itsplatform. The case is relevant for students of business management in general and marketing in particular.
