Fluid flow in a cylindrical vessel in the presence of an axially vibrating disk

1997
The isothermal motions of a viscous model fluid in a cylindrical container were experimentally investigated in the presence of a vibrating submerged disk. Water-glycerine mixtures with various percentages of the components were used as the model fluid. The structures of the flows and their scales and stability are studied as functions of the amplitude-frequency parameters of the vibrations of the disk, the fluid viscosity, the configuration of the lower surface of the disk and the presence of an orifice at its centre
