The CSlRO Space Technology Program
1988
CSIRO has identified space science and technology as an important area into which research effort should be directed, and an Office has been established to co-ordinate this work. The Office has been allocated a budget to support space related research and transfer of technology into the industrial sector. Five industrial projects are currently receiving funds in order that industry may be made aware of technological initiatives whilst they are in the early stages of development. The rationale behind the program is outlined, and four of the projects - Radioastron, a remote atmospheric pressure sensor, IRCCD development, and remote sensing satellite antenna development - are described.
