EFFECT OF Cladosporium ON CORROSION BEHAVIORS OF A3 STEEL IN OIL-WATER MEDIUM

2006
The open circuit potential, potentiodynamic scanning polarization and surface analysis methods were employed to investigate the effect of Cladosporium on the corrosion behaviors of A3 steel. It was showed that open circuit potential of A3 steel shifted negatively, corrosion rate increased when Cladosporium activity was great.Cladosporium could accelerate the corrosion of A3 steel.Cladosporium had little effect on the corrosion behaviors when its activity decreased. The biofilm formed on the specimens immersing in Cladosporium solution.Water phase was the environment for Cladosporium prior to oil phase. At the interface of water-oil the concentration of the bacteria was the greatest and the corrosion of specimen was the most serious. The corrosion was aggravated with time increasing.
