The invention relates to a method for remotely monitoring and locating faults of set strings in a photovoltaic power station system. The method comprises the steps that the photovoltaic power station system judges whether the difference value of the mean value of voltage parameters of combiner boxes and the voltage parameters of the combiner boxes is larger than a voltage threshold value of the combiner boxes or not, if the difference value is larger than the voltage threshold value, the system judges whether the difference value of the mean value of currents of the set strings and current parameters of the set strings corresponding to the combiner boxes is larger than a set string current threshold value or not, and if the difference value is larger than the set string current threshold value, the set strings are located by the system; if the difference value is not larger than the voltage threshold value, the system judges the difference value of the mean value of currents of the set strings and the voltage parameters of the set strings corresponding to the other combiner boxes is larger than the set string current threshold value or not, and if the difference value is larger than the set string current threshold value, the set strings are located by the system. According to the method for remotely monitoring and locating the faults of the set strings in the photovoltaic power station system, all set string information likely to be laminated and set string information of the set strings likely not to work are obtained, efficiency is high, cost is low, the structure is simple, and the good early warning effect and the wider application range are achieved.
