Detection d'anneaux Cherenkov a l'aide d'un compteur multipointes a focalisation cathodique

Abstract Recent studies, aimed at photosensitizing gaseous multiplication counters, make the detection of Cherenkov light possible. Multi-needle detectors with cathodic focussing, which can solve by their structure specific imaging problems, are adapted to detect a ring-focussed Cherenkov image produced by a single particle. In this article, we study the properties of the radiator, analyze the results obtained with this detection apparatus and estimate the quantum efficiency of the detector.
