DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A GYROTRON POWER SUPPLY USING SOLID STATE DC-DC CONVERTERS

Abstract In this paper a new design of Power Supply for RF equipment by high frequency commutation technology, totally solid state, without energy storage at the output filter neither protection Crowbar is presented. The Power Supply (3 MW, 100 KV, 30 A) procures a low ripple, excellent dynamic and static stability and very fast turn-off quicker than 5μs required by RF equipments. It presents more conclusive advantages than today's power supplies based on tubes.
