Lincoln Park: upscale parking innovations

A six-storey 300-space parking garage in Miami Beach, Florida, USA reserves eight ground floor spaces for daytime VIPs as stipulated in the lease. To achieve cost-efficiency, the same spaces are available in the evenings for other customers. Dual usage of the spaces is achieved by the installation of MySpot 200 remote-controlled space barriers from Designated Parking Corp. A barrier is lowered and raised by a hand-held transmitter in the user's vehicle or controlled from a central location. Drivers obtain a ticket on entry to the car park and pay at machines prior to exiting. MySpot 200 has also been used in hospitals in the USA and the Netherlands, shopping centres in Ireland and Puerto Rico, and office buildings in Hungary.
