Can Right Ventricular Outlow Tract Monomorphic Ventricular Tachycardia Be Associated with Brugada Syndrome

2020
Arrhythmic sudden cardiac death in Brugada Syndrome is typically related to polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. In contrast, idiopathic right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) ventricular tachycardia is a monomorphic ventricular tachycardia that does not confer an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. An overlap may exist in which a Brugada pattern is associated with monomorphic outflow tract ventricular tachycardia. The clinical importance of differentiating classical Brugada syndrome from a Brugada pattern associated with outflow tract ventricular tachycardia stems from increased risk of sudden cardiac death in the former.
