Changes and clinical significance of serum HSP60 and MMP-9 in patients with colorectal cancer.

2009
Objective To investigate the changes of levels of serum HSP60(heat shock protein 60) and MMP-9(matrix metalloproteinases-9) in patients with colorectal cancer befor and after operation,.Methods The contents of serum HSP60 and MMP-9 in 76 patients with colorectal cancer were detected by ELISA respectively befor and after opreration and compared them with that of colorectal benign group and health controls. Results The contents of serum HSP60 and MMP9 in the patients with colorectal cancer befor operation were significantly higher than that in colorectal benign group and health control group(P0.01).There was significant correlation between the contents with lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(Duke's)(P0.05).The contents of HSP60 and MMP-9 were significantly decreased in the patients with colorectal cancer after radical operation(P0.05).But there was not significantly decrease of the contents of HSP60 and MMP-9 in patients with colorectal cancer after palliative resection(P0.05).Conclusion The contents of HSP60 and MMP-9 are increased in patients with colorectal cancer and determination of the contents of serum HSP60 and MMP-9 may be an important index for evalution of invasion, metatasis, efficiacy and progrosis for the patients with colorectal cancer.
