A Survey on Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment Plant Based on Effluent COD
2013
is the most plentiful resource which covers nearly 70 percent of the Earth's surface. Pure drinking water is necessary for humans and other organisms to survive in the world. Increasing urbanization, industrialization, and other anthropogenic activities result in degrading the quality of water day by day. This hazardous wastewater can't be discharged directly on the ground or in the water bodies. Necessary treatment is required before discharging this wastewater. Wastewater treatment is essential to preserve the environment and living organisms. Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) measures the amount of oxygen consumed by the water in the decomposition of organic matter and oxidation of inorganic matter and chemicals. Predicting effluents in the water is a time consuming process. Many different wastewater treatment methods have been proposed over the years. This paper deals with an attempt at studying the wastewater treatment based on COD effluent. There are several techniques and methodologies available in the field of Wastewater Treatment Plant. This paper reveals most of the techniques in the field of Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for the Prediction of COD. Several algorithms used in the prediction of COD have been widely studied and applied in predicting the COD effluent level in wastewater.
