«YAWS» en Las Amilpas, Morelos
2012
The following is a morphoscopic and radiological study of the skeleton No 7 found in a simultaneous group burial ground in Cuautla which in prehispanic times was one of the towns known as Las Amilpas. The chronology of the burial ground has been dated to the Late Postclassic, a period when the area of the present State of Morelos was ruled by mexicas. The results of the analysis carried out indicate that the injures seen in this skeleton's different bone segments match the clinical manifestations caused by the disease known as yaws, frambesia, pian or buba.
