Drift dissipative instability in a dusty plasma: Do dust particles reduce intensity of density irregularities in the lower ionosphere?

2015
We re-analyzed the effect of loss of electrons and hence the reduction in electron density on drift dissipative instability. We find that the growth rates of the drift waves decrease. The analysis suggests that the presence of dust particle, if they are responsible for the loss of background electrons, will reduce the intensity of density irregularities in the E region of the ionosphere.
