ACQUIRING TRAVEL TIME AND NETWORK LEVEL ORIGIN-DESTINATION DATA BY MACHINE VISION ANALYSIS OF VIDEO LICENSE PLATE IMAGES

In this paper, the authors categorize various applications of video image capture and provide brief examples of both manual and machine vision data processing. Examples include: traffic surveillance electronic toll collection enforcement, security systems, travel time studies, and origin- destination surveys.
