Non-linear studies of Mirnov oscillations in the DITE tokamak: Evidence for a strange attractor
1986
Abstract A dimension estimate given by the correlation exponent ν of Grassberger and Procaccia is calculated for the DITE tokamak using magnetic field fluctuation data; ν ≐ 2.1 is found in the ohmic discharge considered. Such values suggest that DITE behaviour in the Mirnov frequency range may be described by a small number of processes, and an attempt is made, employing bispectral analysis, to identify these.
