Pedicle Thinning at the Thoracolumbar Junction: A Normal Variant

Thinning of pedicles, especially when associated with medially concave borders, is an accepted sign of a possible space-occupying lesion situated within the vertebral canal. Although previous recognition of pedicle thinning occurring at the thoracolumbar junction as a normal variant has been made [1 , 2], this case report illustrates the difficulty in adequately evaluating a patient with this finding.
