Variation law of stem diameter and internode length aboveground of Carex pseudocuraica ramets under different water content

The variation of stem diameter and internode length of Carex pseudocuraica ramets in Sanjiang Plain under different water condition(Drought:S_1 S_2;Shallow Water:S_3,S_4 S_5;Deep Water:S_6) were studied with the method of artificial simulation in natural wetland.The results showed that the increment amplitude of stem diameter behaved as S_1 S_2S_3,S_4 S_5S_6.Of the same ramet,the stem diameter varied in the stem base,kept uniform in the central section,and became thin in the 1st-3rd node near the growing point.The internonde length of central section after the 3rd node from the base,which increased with soil water content and water depth(S_1S_4S_5S_6,except the last node of S_6),was longer than 1st-2nd internodes of both stem base(except S_6) and top.
