Test of susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to four second-line antituberculosis drugs.

2010
Aim To determine resistance of Mycobacteium tuberculosis to four second-line anti-tuberculosis drugs and provide scientific basis for clinical treatment and monitoring. Methods The positive samples of Mycobacteium tuberculosis were inoculated into the modified Lowenstein-Jensen medium and tested against 4-Amino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid,Ofloxacin,Ciprofloxacin and Kanamycin using absolute concentration method. Results The sensitivity of 60 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to single drug was in the descending order of PAS(100%),followed by KM(39.3%),CFX(18.3%),and OFLX(16.7%).Conclusion The primary resistant rate of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to 4-Amino-2hydroxybenzoic acid,Ofloxacin,Ciprofloxacin and Kanamycin were increasing and thus the work of monitoring of the resistant coditions be strengthened.
