Method for continuously extracting animal and vegetable protein and apparatus therefor

1989
PURPOSE: To continuously extract the subject protein in high yield in an industrial scale by adjusting a precipitant composed of a fatty acid and a protein soln. to controlled pH and temp. to mix them in a predetermined ratio and ageing the obtained mixture to form a suspension and subsequently separating the suspension into a liquid part and a solid part. CONSTITUTION: A precipitant composed of a 6-14C fatty acid such as caprylic acid and a protein soln. (e.g.; human plasma, etc.), are adjusted to controlled pH and temp. in respective supply sources 4, 1 and continuously supplied to a small capacity mixing chamber 12a in a predetermined ratio by pumps 5, 2 while parameters such as supply quantity, pressure, temp., pH or resistance are permanently monitored to be violently mixed in the mixing chamber 12 a to form a mixture and this mixture is transferred to an ageing chamber 12b to be aged to form a suspension which is, in turn, separated into a liquid part extracted so that protein has excessive dissolved matter and a solid part containing second protein having specificity by a separator 17 and protein is selectively precipitated to be continuously extracted.
