Expression and clinicopathologic significance of cell division cycle 42 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 in breast carcinoma tissues

2014
Objective To study the expressions of cell division cycle 42 (Cdc42) and matrix met-alloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in breast carcinoma and their relationship with the clinicopathological factors. Methods Cdc42 and MMP-9 expression in 66 cases of human breast carcinoma tissues and non-cancerous adjacent breast tissues were examined by using immunohistochemical method. Results The expression rate of Cdc42 was 80.30% in breast carcinoma tissues, and 25.76% in non-cancerous adjacent breast tissues (P < 0.01),the expressions of Cdc42 were related to histology grade and lymph node metastasis (P <0.01) ; the expression rate of MMP-9 was 72.73% in breast carcinoma tissues, and 12.12% in non-cancerous adjacent breast tissues (P < 0.01),the expressions of MMP-9 were related to TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05).Conclusion The over expressions of Cdc42 and MMP-9 might play a role in progression, invasion and metastasis of breast carcinoma.
