A search for technipions and charged Higgs bosons at LEP

Abstract A search has been performed for unstable charged scalar particles (S ± ) such as technipions or charged Higgs bosons, pair-produced in e + e − annihilation at energies near the Z 0 pole. No evidence for such particles was observed in the decay modes e + e − →S + S − →(cs)(τv), (τv) (τv)and(cs)(cs). A lower limit (at the 95% CL ) of 35 Gev/c 2 is obtained for the mass of the charged scalar particles, independent of the branching ratio.
