Growth and characterization of YP0.1V0.9O4 crystal

Abstract Tetragonal zircon-type YP 0.1 V 0.9 O 4 single crystal has been pulled using the Czochraski method from YVO 4 –YPO 4 solid-phase system with pulling rate in the 1.5–1.8 mm/h range and the rotation rate at 10–15 r/min. The analytic result for the concentration of P element indicates that YP 0.1 V 0.9 O 4 single crystal can be grown with stoichiometric compositions. The refractive index and the crystal lattice parameters were tested. The optical quality of YP 0.1 V 0.9 O 4 crystal including the optical uniformity and the optical damage threshold was tested and identified.
