FPGA based data acquisition and data monitoring system

Data acquisition systems, as the name implies, are products and processes used to collect information to document or analyze some phenomenon. We used Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based data acquisition and data monitoring system. For the data acquisition and data monitoring we have used a Yagi-Uda 7-element simple dipole antenna and folded dipole with reflector, as a part of our experiment. The signals that are received from the detector, after converted into their digital domain using Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), is fed into the Field Programmable Gate Array. The signals are then compared with the reference signal and stored into the memory. Also it guides the antenna in the direction of the signal received weather it is maximum or minimum. The proposed system has been realized using Xilinx 9.2i and FPGA Spartan3E XC3S500E. FPGA, ISE, P2P, LOS, VHDL.
