Embarazo y sistema digestivo

Pregnancy is a natural and physiological condition; however, there may be digestive problems, those that occur only during pregnancy, concomitant with it, as well as conditions that may appear in the course of it. Abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, gastroesophageal reflux, heartburn, bloating or swelling, flatulence, constipation, hemorrhoids and altered liver function are frequent. The diagnostic and treatment should be limited to that necessary to ensure maternal and fetal welfare.(AU) El embarazo es una condicion natural y fisiologica, sin embargo, pueden presentarse distintos problemas digestivos, tanto aquellos que ocurren solo durante la gestacion, concomitantemente a ella, asi como entidades que se exacerban o aparecen en el curso de la misma. Son frecuentes el dolor abdominal, las nauseas y vomitos, el reflujo gastroesofagico, la distension abdominal, el meteorismo, la constipacion, las hemorroides y la alteracion de las pruebas hepaticas. El estudio diagnostico asi como el tratamiento deben ser limitados a lo necesario para garantizar el bienestar materno-fetal.(AU)
