A UDL with STEAM to support learning in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)

2018
Many educational strategies have been introduced giving practical instruction to support children with ASD in general education settings. Sometimes they are competing with one another in education. None is more important than the others, but teachers do not have enough time to learn, implement, and test these new strategies to determine which could be most beneficial for their students with ASD. The main purposes of this paper are to provide a practical sample UDL plan for practitioners and teachers to explore how to (1) design STEAM education for children with ASD so that each child can learn and express using his/her strengths, (2) support a child’s needs including behavioral support with evidencebased practices, and (3) connect daily instruction monitoring to the future career assessment.
