Regional Anatomy of Dorsal Nerves of Penis

2009
Objective To investigate the course, distribution and the number of dorsal nerves of penis (DNP) among normal adults. Methods In 38 human autopsy specimens, the DNP, deep dorsal vein of penis (DDVP) and dorsal artery of penis (DAP) were carefully educed, observed and counted. Results In the dorsal of penis, the DNP were mainly parallel distribution, the number of DNP of the 38 cases were as follows: 7 branches in 1 case, 6 branches in 1 case, 5 branches in 6 cases, 4 branches in 9 cases, 3 branches in 14 cases, and 2 branches in 7 cases, the average number of DNP was (3.55±1.2) branches. Conclusion The DNP have different pattern of innervation with more than 2 branches, these findings may aid in planning primary premature ejaculation surgical procedures.
