The resource-based view is an emergent paradigm in strategic management. Its evolu- tion has been spectacuiar in the 1st years with multiple implications on corporate research, manage- ment and valuation. However, it has been criticized the weak empirical support of theoreticai deve- lopments. Measuring of organizational capabilities is one of the main djfnculties for empirical works. Thk paper focuses on the proactive environrnental strategy as organizational capability. The main ob- jective is to develop an instrument to measure it with validity and reliability. Results are based on da- ta from CEOs of 134 nrms working in the ski resorts of 12 on North America and Europe. Results show a valid and reliable measure for proactive environrnental strategy that couid be used in future studies.
