A QoE-based control system for bitrate adaption of wireless-accessed video stream

In this paper, we design and develop a Quality of Experience (QoE) based control system for bitrate adaption of wireless-accessed video stream. The system is designed to utilize the bandwidth resource better and improve user's viewing experience as much as possible. We set up a QoE prediction model based on classification decision tree with both objective and subjective factors taken into account, and design an algorithm for bitrate adaption of mobile video stream. The experimental result shows that the application of the QoE-based control system can significantly improve the QoE of mobile video.
