The invention provides an alkaline-solubility acrylate emulsion and a preparation method thereof. The alkaline-solubility acrylate emulsion is prepared from styrene, crylic acid, methacrylic acid, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, hydroxyethyl acrylate, isooctyl 3-mercaptopropionate, OS, OP-10, ammonium persulfate and deionized water in a certain ratio by using a certain process in a polymerization reaction manner. After being dissolved with alkali, the alkaline-solubility acrylate emulsion is very good in adhesion property, water resistance, leveling property and the like, polymer emulsion prepared from the emulsion can be widely used for preparing multiple adhesives (such as a label adhesive and a paper package adhesion), emulsion coatings (such as a building coating and a paper coating), thickening agents, cement additives, fabric sizing agents, paper-making additives, aqueous ink and the like, is very large in market potential and very wide in development prospect.
