Environmental and Economic Indicators of Anthropogenic Impacts on Water Resources in Russia and the World

Several environmental and economic indicators of anthropogenic impacts on Russia’s water resources are considered. These, in particular, are the ratio of water consumption to gross domestic product and gross regional product; specific indicators of water consumption in individual sectors of the economy; the ratio of volumes of water used to water resources, taking into account the environmental component of runoff; the rate of dilution of wastewater with resources of the river runoff; and a number of indicators of the effectiveness of runoff regulation. Some of the indicators are compared with their values for individual countries and for the world as a whole.
